Casey Anthony's Lawyer Comes Up with Convicted Black Felon, Vasco Thompson, as Connected to Ex-Cop George Anthony in Caylee Anthony Murder Case

Casey Anthony's lawyers name convicted black felon, Vasco Thompson, as witness in the murder trial as having connections to Caylee Anthony's grandfather and ex-cop George Anthony.

I know a person is innocent until proven guilty, but the Casey Anthony murder trial has taken another ugly turn -- a black Orlando felon, Vasco Thompson, is now being dragged into this mess as the defense team, led by Anthony Baez, is throwing a "hail Mary-type" pass into the end zone to prove his client is innocent, even though the evidence is stacked against her. Thompson was reportedly convicted on kidnapping charges in 1988. This comes on the heels of Chief Judge Belvin Perry denying the defense's motion for acquittal. I think Casey Anthony and her lawyers are crazy if they think she could get an acquittal. Casey Anthony is making the rounds with trying to pass off her daughter's death on other people. First we had a Hispanic, Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez, then she blamed her ex-fiance Jesse Grund, next up, grandfather George Anthony and now a black man, Vasco Thompson.

Court documents show Thompson is a "recently discovered witness through the ongoing efforts of defense investigators." Thompson, according to the filing, "was connected to George Anthony through his cell phone records." Records show four calls between Caylee's grandfather and Thompson on July 14, 2008 — a day before Cindy Anthony reported Caylee's disappearance to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

George Anthony's attorney, Mark Lippman, told the Orlando Sentinel today that his client "has no idea who this person is." Lippman said there were apparently four points of contact between the two men, but he has no idea what those calls entailed or the duration of them. Lippman said he doesn't know if Anthony was supposedly calling Thompson or if the felon was calling Anthony.

Let's see if this has any substance or it's another desparate attempt by Casey Anthony and her lawyers to smear another person, albeit a convicted criminal. Yeah, who's going to believe the criminal, right? They're trying to pin Caylee Anthony's murder on George Anthony and yes, the black man, Vasco Thompson. I'm very skeptical about this since the police didn't haul this man in for questioning during their investigation. At least, we never heard his name until now. HLN's Nancy Grace must be foaming at the mouth about this latest development, which will amount to another waste of time by the defense.
