Florida Congressman Alcee Hastings Faces Ethics Review After Former Staffer Winsome Packer Accuses Him of Sexual Harassment

Florida Democratic lawmaker Alcee Hastings facing ethics review after former staffer Winsome Packer accuses him of sexual harassment and retaliation when she tried to report it.

Another sex scandal in the making? According to the Wall Street Journal, the Office of Congressional Ethics is investigating allegations that Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) sexually harassed a former member of his staff, Winsome Packer. It should be noted that the investigations are in the early stages, but this could get really ugly. Brace yourself Democrats!
It began at least a month ago after Judicial Watch, a conservative group, filed a lawsuit as the legal counsel for Winsome Packer, a staffer on a commission Mr. Hastings headed. She alleged that she had been sexually harassed by the congressman and that he retaliated when she tried to report it. Source
Of course, Hastings denies the allegations, but true to form, they all do, whether they are guilty or not. Remember ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner and the lewd photograph and sexting scandal? Didn't he deny it at first? Well, let's see how this plays out. Alcee, you'd better not go down the same path as Anthony Weiner and Bill Clinton and let your dirty laundry be aired in public.
