Bruce Windsor, Church Deacon, Soccer Coach, Father Charged with Bank Robbery and Kidnapping

Photo: Deacon Bruce Windsor, Bank Robbery Suspect

Another church leader bites the dust. Bruce Windsor, who is a church deacon, soccer coach, father of four, was facing financial problems as many are in this economic quagmire, but what he is accused of doing is unsettling. He is a suspected bank robber. Yes, Windsor, who owns a real estate company, allegedly walked into Carolina First Bank in Greenville, S.C., with a mask and a handgun.

In court documents filed Friday, police said he forced two bank employees into an office at gunpoint and demanded money. Police arrived minutes later with the suspect still inside, touching off a tense 90-minute standoff before he released the hostages and surrendered.
His actions were "out of character" for a man who has never been in trouble with the law before, friends and relatives said. His tearful sister, defending him as he stood before a judge, said, "He must have just snapped under the pressure."

In his initial appearance for a bond hearing, Windsor was in an orange jail jumpsuit, shackled and with his hands cuffed. In a quiet voice, he answered "yes, sir" as the judge explained the charges to him: two counts of kidnapping, one count of robbery and two counts of pointing firearms at a person, charges that could carry more than 30 years in prison if convicted.

A police detective told the judge Windsor said he had been experiencing financial problems. But police spokesman Cpl. Jason Rampey told CNN they could not yet say for certain whether money problems were the motive for the alleged robbery. The judge set his bail at just over $1.5 million. Source: CNN
So, has the recession and the mortgage meltdown caused the spike in more robberies? That may very well be. But back to Deacon Windsor. Whatever happened to going to the Bible to find strength in one's walk. The Bible clearly states that the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. The Word also says that He is a present help in every strife. What about trusting God and having faith that you can overcome any hardship? Once again, Deacon Windsor is a classic case of do as I say and not as I do. How can you minister for Jesus Christ if you are enslaved to money?

I would love to hear what drove him to attempt to rob a bank in the first place. You realize that we will now be subjected to listening to statements about how he is such a good father and a committed church leader, as well as a dedicated soccer coach, a loving husband, a "model-citizen" and just an all-around great guy. That may well be true, but I know that we all have mountains to climb in life. When you are a born again Christian your climb should be based on faith in God and Biblical truths, not based on the flesh and criminal actions. The last thing I expected to hear was that a deacon in the church tried to stick up a bank. Another wolf in sheep's clothing and another reason why some people are being turned off by organized religion.

Barnes & Noble Apologizes for Monkey Book Displayed Among Books about President Barack Obama & Michelle Obama

Well, another monkey has popped up again. This time it comes to us courtesy of Barnes and Noble bookstore. A spokesman for the company claims a customer placed a book about monkeys in a window where Barack Obama books were on display.

Right and we were born yesterday. They took the easy way out -- blamed it on a customer. Wait, I wonder just how long that book was on display before the employees realized that it didn't belong there? That's a sick joke, if someone thought it was funny.

Here's the apology:

Barnes & Noble would like to publicly apologize for what happened in our Coral Gables, Florida store. We believe that a customer played a cruel joke and placed an inappropriate title in the front window of our store, where we were featuring books written by or about President Obama. We want to assure our customers that the book placed by someone other than our booksellers was never intended to be included in our display and was removed as soon as we became aware of the situation. We are looking into it and are taking the steps necessary so that it does not happen again. From time to time customers will move titles from one area of the store to another. In this particular case, we do not condone whatever message may have been intended with the placement of this title in our Presidential display. It certainly was not part of our merchandising and we regret that we didn’t see the placement of this title immediately. Mary Ellen Keating, Spokesperson Barnes & Noble, Inc. Source: Black Power

Hat tip to my regular reader Mz. Diva for pointing this out to me!

Ethiopian Refugee, Saad Hussein, Arrested for Allegedly Targeting President Barack Obama With HIV-Infected Blood

There are some really sick people out there and this latest case is no exception. Saad Hussein, an Ethiopian refugee, has been arrested for allegedly sending Obama and his staff envelopes containing HIV-infected blood, in the hopes of killing or harming them. A spokesman for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service said that it's only the second time ever that HIV-infected blood has been sent with malicious intent through the U.S. mail system.
In the weeks leading up to Obama's inauguration, Hussein sent an envelope addressed to "Barack Obama" to offices of the Illinois government in Springfield, Ill., according to court documents. The envelope contained a series of unusual items, including a letter with reddish stains and an admission ticket for Obama's election-night celebration in Chicago's Grant Park. Court documents said Hussein, who takes drugs to treat a mental illness, later told FBI agents he is "very sick with HIV" and cut his fingers with a razor so he could bleed on the letter.

Hazmat teams were called in after the envelope was opened, and offices of the Illinois Department on Aging and the Department of Revenue were locked down for nearly two hours, locking 300 staffers in their offices, court documents said.

Hussein, with his brother acting as an interpreter, told FBI agents he was actually "an admirer" of Obama and was "seeking help from the government," according to court documents. He also told them he was hoping to obtain tickets to the inaugural ceremonies in Washington, the documents said. Source: CNN
But Hussein wasn't finished. He allegedly placed two more letters in the mail one addressed to "Emanuel," an apparent reference to Obama's current chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel. The two letters contained what appeared to be dried blood, the court documents said.

Hussein, who has never held a job in the three years he's been in the United States, was arrested last month. An affidavit filed at the time accused Hussein of "knowingly" mailing letters "containing HIV-infected blood, with the intent to kill or injure another," in violation of federal law.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HIV is spread only through sexual contact with an infected person, through sharing needles with an infected person, or through blood transfusions of infected blood. That's all good, but the guy is trouble and they ought deport him back to Ethiopia. He's not worth the headache and the expense of incarceration. Saad Hussein is a liability. He is certainly no asset to the United States with such a pattern of criminal behavior. Sorry, but back to Africa for this man.

Damone Brown, Reno Bighorns Player, Charged with Felony in Drug-Related Case

Another athlete has been caught up in a lot of trouble and to make matters worst, a FBI agent was shot during a roundup of drug suspects at a house in Buffalo, N.Y. as part of an investigation that also resulted in the arrest Thursday of a member of the NBA Developmental League's Reno Bighorns, Damone Brown.

Brown was arrested in Reno Thursday morning and was scheduled to make his initial appearance in federal court later Thursday on a felony count of money laundering. Yep, he can kiss any professional career goodbye. He is accused of leasing a safe deposit box at a Buffalo bank for an alleged drug kingpin to store his drug proceeds in. Authorities seized $170,000 from the box before he was arrested. They have him nailed, literally. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Guerra said he does not know whether Brown benefited financially from the arrangement. He could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

I don't know who this guy is, but from what I have read, he played at Syracuse, is averaging nearly 16 points a game this season for the affiliate of the Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks. Brown was the Bighorns' first pick in the D-League's expansion draft in September. The Philadelphia 76ers selected him in the second round of the 2001 NBA draft. He also has played in the NBA with New Jersey, Toronto, Washington and Indiana. Another brother with potential sidelined by bad habits.

Denver Archbishop Charles Chaput Says Some Catholics Treating President Obama with "Spirit of Adulation Bordering on Servility"

I find it amazing that the Roman Catholic Church suddenly has criticized President Barack Obama on so many levels, while they said very little about President George W. Bush during his eight-year tenure. The latest "godly" person who has taken offense to President Obama's popularity is Denver Archbishop Charles Chaput. He told a Canadian audience earlier this week that some Catholics are treating President Obama "spirit of adulation bordering on servility."
"In democracies, we elect public servants, not messiahs," he said. Wow. This is amazing coming from the same group that reappointed a Nazi denier back into their fold.

Chaput also warned that an overly deferential attitude toward Obama makes the political situation "very hard for Catholics in the United States." Guess why he was in Canada? To promote his book "Render Unto Caesar," which discusses how Catholics should bring their faith into public life. It speaks volumes that 54 percent of Catholics voted for Obama, who is pro-choice, which has irked many in the upper echelons of the Roman Catholic Church.

The Archibishop should listen to his own words and acknowledge that President Obama, like Presidents John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton were charismatic leaders. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. "President Obama is a man of intelligence and some remarkable gifts. He has a great ability to inspire, as we saw from his very popular visit to Canada just this past week. But whatever his strengths, there's no way to reinvent his record on abortion and related issues with rosy marketing about unity, hope and change," the Catholic News Agency quoted Chaput as saying.

"Americans, including many Catholics, elected a gifted man to fix an economic crisis. That's the mandate. They gave nobody a mandate to retool American culture on the issues of marriage and the family, sexuality, bioethics, religion in public life and abortion," he said. So, I am guessing that the Catholic Church has stood for all those things and have pushed programs in their own churches to strengthen the very things the Archbishop is complaining about. Wasn't this the same group of people, who rather than calling the authorities on those priests molesting innocent children, they moved them around from parish to parish? Archbishop Chaput, don't hate the messenger because he is popular, focus on cleaning up the ills dogging the Roman Catholic Church. As the Bible says, pick the speck out of your own eye before you pick it out of another's.

White House Watermelon Email From California Mayor Dean Grose Sparks Outrage

Here we go again, another politician being racist. Dean Grose, mayor of Los Alamitos, Ca., is coming under fire for an e-mail he sent out that depicts the White House lawn planted with watermelons, under the title "No Easter egg hunt this year." How ignorant and racist.

Local businesswoman and city volunteer Keyanus Price, who is black, said she received the e-mail from Mayor Dean Grose's personal account on Sunday and wants a public apology.

Grose said that he sent the e-mail to Price and added that he didn't mean to offend her. He said he was unaware of the racial stereotype that black people like watermelons. Hello, where has he been? I am sure he is not a kid who probably wouldn't know about the negative stereotype, but a grown man? Liar. Grose said he sent an apology e-mail to Price and her boss and also left her a voicemail apology.

I never heard of Los Alamitos until I read this story. It is a 2¼-square-mile Orange County city of around 12,000 people. The mayor is elected by fellow members of the five-seat City Council. All the haters out there, your president is an African American. Grin and bear it!

Actor Morgan Freeman Being Sued by Demaris Meyer, the Woman in the Car with Him in Car Accident

I am a big fan of Morgan Freeman and I was very disappointed to learn that he may have been stepping out on his wife with Demaris Meyer, her one-time friend. Well, it seems like Ms. Meyer is seeing dollar signs everywhere because she has sued the actor. Yup, my late grandmother always said if you lay down with dogs you will get up with fleas. Yeah, Morgan did just that.

As you recall, Demaris Meyer was the woman riding in the car with the actor in the wee hours of the morning when he crashed. She is telling the press that he had been drinking a lot that night. Naturally that begs the question of why did she get in the car with him knowing that he had been drinking and what could possibly have happened. Geez, why didn't she offer to drive the actor? She's suing Morgan for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, permanent disability for short-term memory loss and damages. Oh, and short-term memory loss. Yeah, the same short-term memory loss she had when she forgot Morgan Freeman was married.

She said that she isn't his mistress, but what was she doing in the car with a married man in the wee hours of the morning, if something funny wasn't about to jump off. Meyer told reporters at a news conference Wednesday that when she met him that night at dinner, she saw that "throughout the course of dinner and afterward drinks were consumed by Freeman."

She said that she later met up with him at a friend’s home, where he "had at least one more drink." She says it was only after being offered a place to stay -- at his home, or rather, the guest house -- that she got in the car with him. Haven't we heard that tired story before? Please, the woman doesn't deserve one penny. To echo the words of Kanye West -- she ain't nothing but a gold digger and a wannabe homewrecker!

Cops: South Dade Dad, Pablo Josue Amador, 54, Fatally Shoots Wife, Maria Amador, Two Daughters and Himself, Son Escapes

Here we go again. Another man killing his entire family, except his oldest son who managed to get away. Pablo Josue Amador, who has been described as a gifted musician and once sang tenor with the Greater Miami Opera chorus, shot and killed his wife and two daughters this morning as his 16-year-old son escaped their South Miami-Dade home.
Amador then turned the gun on himself in a murder-suicide that stunned a neighborhood filled with many of his current and former students. Police received a 911 call just before 6 a.m. of shots fired at the home in the 16000 block of Southwest 98th Court. When officers arrived, they found four bodies inside, according to Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, a police spokesman. ''The preliminary investigation revealed the male, the father of the family, shot his two daughters, killed his wife and then himself," Zabaleta said.

Zabaleta said Amador's daughters were 13 and 14. Police did not say where their bodies were found. The couple's teenage son was able to escape unharmed from the house and called police from a cordless phone as he ran away, Zabaleta said. Investigators were still speaking with him and were trying to reach other family members of the deceased. A victim witness counselor with the department's homicide bureau was also helping the teenager.

Pablo Amador, 54, gave piano lessons to students of all ages at the home, according to a post on http://www.privatelessons.com/. Amador writes that he was a musical director, arranger and vocalist for Los Galileos, a six-member ensemble that had performed in dozens of churches around South Florida since 2001. He also says he sang tenor with the Greater Miami Opera chorus, now the Florida Grand Opera, and sang at Kendall United Methodist Church. Amador's wife, Maria J. Amador, 47, worked as director of education for the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis center at the University of Miami. Source: The Miami Herald.
I hate to say it, but there will be more of these murder-suicides as the economic nightmare continues. I don't know what was the straw that broken the camel's back in this case and pushed Mr. Amador to do something so drastic and heinous, but one has to wonder why this had to happen. His motivations were selfish and to leave his teenage son to live through such trauma is unconscionable and unfair. He's a punk for taking the easy way out. Sorry, no sympathies here.

Money Managers Paul Greenwood, Stephen Walsh of WG Trading Company Charged with Criminal Fraud

Another one bites the dust..... According to Reuters, Paul Greenwood and Stephen Walsh, two money managers at WG Trading Company have been charged with criminal fraud for allegedly misappropriating investor funds and making false representations.

Both men were managing general partners of WG Trading, which has main offices in Greenwich. They were charged with conspiracy, securities fraud and wire fraud. According to the criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, the alleged scheme began in 1996 and ran through this month.

I hate to say it, but there will be more arrests in financial circles as more crimes are uncovered. The recession, though hard on everyone, is a blessing in disguise. At least the scumbags are now being ferreted out into the open. This is another example of how the Securities and Exchange Commission isn't as tough as it should be. Too many financial improprieties have flown under the radar on their watch. I don't blame President Barack Obama, it is time to clean house!

Sandra Renia Joseph Accused of Murdering Son, 11-Year-Old Samuel Utomeh, With Her Suzuki SUV

What could possess a mother to take the life of her child is beyond me. Well, Sandra Renia Joseph of Louisiana is accused of doing just that. She has been arrested and charged with the murder of her son, Samuel Utomeh, who was 11-years-old. This precious baby did not deserve what his mother did to him. This case will shock even the toughest cop who has to investigate this horrific crime. You might ask how this child was murdered. She used her SUV to do it and to make matters worst, this woman was a member of law enforcement. She was a cop.
The incident occurred Saturday morning. At around 9:15am on February 21, a call came into the Saint Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. A woman said she was walking along a rural road when she noticed a silver Suzuki SUV with extensive front damage. She said the driver told her to contact the police because she had just run over her son.

When the authorities arrived at the scene, they say the driver said the same thing to them – that she had run over her son. They also allege she directed them to his body. The victim was found next to a barn near the road. Samuel Utomeh was 11-years-old. According to the police, there were multiple points of impact that caused severe blunt force trauma to the child. His mother, Sandra Renia Joseph, was charged with first-degree murder. The 49-year-old is being held without bond. Source: CNN
This is a tragedy of untold proportions. This woman deserves the death penalty. She needs to be rammed with a Mack truck instead of a SUV. I don't care what demons she may have been confronting. I call on the people of her community, to call for her to be fired from her job or suspended without pay. She was a police officer from 1985 to 1990 and now works at the Louisiana Department of Social Services. Right, imagine her trying to help another kid who is the victim of abuse. Nobody, absolutely no-one deserves to die like this and perhaps, worst of all, at the hands of a parent. That is simply reprehensible.

La. Gov. Bobby Jindal's Rebuttal to President Obama's Homerun Speech was Choppy and Simply a Disgrace, First Auto Made in Germany, Not the USA

I must admit, when I first heard about Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, I felt that was a refreshing change and a new face. Well, he opened his mouth the rebut President Obama's speech and he has removed all doubt. If this was the best the GOP could do, then they are in worst shape than I had realized. Bobby Jindal was a hot mess and his speech bordered on incoherent. I loved when he wrangled over the issue of Hurricane Katrina. He was like a deer caught between headlights. A MSNBC host muttered "Oh God" as Jindal walked out. Hah. He should have waited until after the speech to mutter those words. Watch him implode. Judge for yourself.

As for the issue of who invented the first automobile, President Obama incorrectly said the United States. I believe the honors go to Germany, home of Karl Friedrich Benz, who invented the first true, four-wheel, gasoline powered, internal combustion-engine in 1885 or maybe Gottlieb Wilhelm Daimler, who accomplished the same feat. The United States of America, by way of Henry Ford, invented mass production of automobiles. So, while he wasn't totally correct, he wasn't totally wrong either.

According to Wikipedia, Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach founded Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft (Daimler Motor Company, DMG) in Cannstatt in 1890 and under the brand name, Daimler, sold their first automobile in 1892, which was a horse-drawn stagecoach built by another manufacturer, that they retrofitted with an engine of their design.

Lisa LaVoie, 24, to be Charged With Enticement of a Child After Being Caught with 15-Year-Old Student in WV Hotel Room

I don't usually advocate violence, but as a parent of two boys, I'll personally take a baseball bat to the head of the teacher who approaches either of them for a sexual relationship. The latest vermin in a classroom is Lisa Lavoie, 24, who taught at Maurice Donahue Elementary School. She was taken into custody by local police in West Virginia and will be charged with enticement of a child, which is a felony. The cops found the missing 15-year-old boy last night in a hotel room in Morgantown, West Va., with Lavoie, his eighth-grade teacher.

The boy's mother reportedly contacted the school on February 13, saying she was concerned about the relationship her son had with Lavoie, a first-year teacher. Authorities were unable to question the first-year teacher because she had left for the day as the school went on a one-week break. The boy's parents reported him missing Feb. 16. Holyoke Detective David Usher was able to track the pair to the hotel by using financial and cellular communication records, Holyoke Police Chief Anthony R. Scott said.

What gives these teachers, male and female, the right to violate someone else's child? When the justice system starts sending a zero-tolerance message to these scumbags and child predators, then it will continue. This woman knew exactly what she was doing and that it was just plain wrong. She preyed upon this boy and God knows how many other boys she engaged in sexual improprieties with. Teachers like Lisa Lavoie are going to mess with the wrong person's kid and will pay a price beyond imagination. That will be a welcome occurrence.

News Corp.'s Founder Rupert Murdoch Issues Apology For Racist Chimp Cartoon Published in NY Post

I don't understand why News Corp. and the NY Post allowed the fallout from the chimp cartoon by Sean Delonas to get to this level, when they were about to face some serious opposition. Yeah, they were also facing a boycott of the newspaper and the company's products in general. The bottom line is that Murdoch has now admitted that President Obama was the intended target of this cartoon. They are within their rights to consider this a badly written piece of legislation, but they did not have to use a chimpanzee as the protagonist. Rupert Murdoch's apology, albeit late, may put this to rest to some people, but not to me. Here is the letter of apology in its entirety.

As the Chairman of the New York Post, I am ultimately responsible for what is printed in its pages. The buck stops with me. Last week, we made a mistake. We ran a cartoon that offended many people. Today I want to personally apologize to any reader who felt offended, and even insulted.

Over the past couple of days, I have spoken to a number of people and I now better understand the hurt this cartoon has caused. At the same time, I have had conversations with Post editors about the situation and I can assure you - without a doubt - that the only intent of that cartoon was to mock a badly written piece of legislation. It was not meant to be racist, but unfortunately, it was interpreted by many as such.

We all hold the readers of the New York Post in high regard and I promise you that we will seek to be more attuned to the sensitivities of our community. Source: NY Post
Thank you and I hope all the other folks out there who feel that they can engage is such obvious race-baiting, will take heed and simply understand our position when we say: not this time to racist behavior. We must also be mindful of the fact that this isn't an isolated incident. The New York Post and Fox News Channel have engaged in a pattern of racist behavior for a long time and it has to stop. Murdoch rightly said that the buck stops with him. Well, it seems that he has ignored many more actions of this nature. President Obama deserves the respect of all Americans, including the wannabe white conservative nutjob Michelle Malkin who said that we owed Sean Delonas an apology.

Robert Redding Jr. Takes Offense to Blacks Coming Up Empty-Handed at the 81st Oscar Awards

Photo: Viola Davis, Oscar Nominee

I am all for equality and justice for all, but it seems that a sense of entitlement among my fellow African Americans is rearing its head again, especially since President Barack Obama became the first African American president of the United States. Now Robert "Rob" Redding Jr, President of Redding News Review and Redding Communications Inc., has a big problem with blacks coming up empty-handed at the recent Oscar Awards. Yep, entitlement rearing its head once again.
Blacks were snubbed in major categories at last night's 81st Academy Awards. Although two blacks were nominated to win on Hollywood's big night in the Best Supporting Actress category - Viola Davis of "Doubt" and Taraji P. Henson of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" - neither won an Oscar. Penelope Cruz beat both Henson and Davis to become the first Spanish-born actress to win an Oscar for her role in "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." Blacks were not nominated for best actor, actress, director, or movie.

What's more, "Trouble the Water," a film made and produced by blacks during the Hurricane Katrina, also failed to win in the Best Documentary Feature category "Man on Wire," a movie about tightrope walking won. Source: Redding News Review.
Come on people, there are more important things for us to worry about than to bicker about blacks coming up empty-handed at the Oscar Awards. There are real racist attacks being made against blacks everyday in this country, including the low blow the New York Post and Sean Delonas took against President Obama, for us to get in the muck over the Oscar Awards. Mr. Redding, you provide a valuable service, one that I have used to find news stories for my blog, but I am really disappointed that you engage in this spirit of entitlement that has dogged so many blacks in this country. Didn't Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding Jr., Morgan Freeman, among others win big at the Oscars? This is much ado about nothing.

Frederick Goings, 36-Year-Old Attorney, Charged with 1st Degree Murder in the Deaths of NY Knicks' Eddy Curry's Former Girlfriend Nova Henry, Infant

UPDATE

Frederick Goings pleads not guilty to the charges against him yesterday. According to the Chicago Tribune, Goings appeared Thursday before Cook County Circuit Judge Jorge Alonso for arraignment.

The Chicago Tribune also said that during an earlier hearing in which Goings was ordered held without bail, prosecutors said his sport-utility vehicle was parked outside Nova Henry's town home that morning, hours before she and her infant daughter, Ava, were found shot to death. Noah, 3, was found asleep.

Photo: Frederick Goings, Chicago Tribune

Well, Frederick Goings' law license just went bye-bye. Actually, it is the least of his worries, since he has only been practicing law since April 2005. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of NY Knicks' Eddy Curry's former girlfriend Nova Henry and her 9-month-old daughter, Ava.
Police said Goings was arrested Friday evening as he was getting into his car outside a relative's place in Chicago. Goings has not made any statements to authorities and is not cooperating in the investigation, Lt. Denis Walsh said. Court records show that Goings was Henry's attorney in a paternity case with Curry involving Ava. Source: Chicago Tribune
As you will recall, the bodies of Henry and her daughter, Ava, were found in their Chicago apartment on Jan. 24. Both died of multiple gunshot wounds.Police said Goings and Henry had "a relationship" and the motive for the shooting was "domestic related" but declined to elaborate.

According to police, Nova Henry let Goings into the apartment on Jan. 24 and the two quarreled. Only a real cruel person can turn the gun on an innocent baby. I hope he rots in prison, where he belongs. Another unscrupulous lawyer. This is another case of domestic violence and it is pathetic. There needs to be stiffer laws concerning domestic violence. This woman and her daughter did not deserve this barbaric treatment at the hands of this man.

Jim Bunning, U.S. Senator, Says Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Has Nine Months to Live Tops, With Pancreatic Cancer

It would be great if more people exercised some tact when they open their mouths, but that would be asking way too much from our elected officials. The latest moron to stick his foot in his mouth is U.S. Senator Jim Bunning. He predicted this past weekend that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg would likely be dead from pancreatic cancer within nine months. So, now he's the keeper of this woman's life?

During a wide-ranging 30-minute speech on Saturday at the Hardin County Republican Party's Lincoln Day Dinner, Bunning said he supports conservative judges "and that's going to be in place very shortly because Ruth Bader Ginsburg … has cancer."

"Bad cancer. The kind that you don't get better from," he told a crowd of about 100 at the old State Theater. "Even though she was operated on, usually, nine months is the longest that anybody would live after (being diagnosed) with pancreatic cancer," he said. Source: Kentucky Courier-Journal

Ms. Ginsburg, 75, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this month and surgeons removed a small tumor that had not spread. Doctors termed it a "Stage 1" cancer, meaning they found it in the early stages when it is most curable.

According to the American Cancer Society, people diagnosed with Stage 1 pancreatic cancer have between a 21 and 37 percent chance of living for more than five years with the disease. Only about 20 percent of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer live for more than a year, but that's because the cancer is difficult to detect and generally is found in later stages. Source: Kentucky Courier-Journal

Okay, be that as it may, did he really need to pronounce a death sentence on this woman? Couldn't he had made his point with more tact? I am sure he could have. There is nothing cavalier about having cancer. Out of respect for this woman, her family and the thousands of people in this country dealing with cancer, he should have been a lot more sensitive instead of so callous. If you ask me, from the looks of his picture, Bunning could possibly die before Ms. Ginsburg.

Ginsburg, appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1993, is one of the most liberal members of the high court.

Arthur Tesler, Jason R. Smith, Gregg Junnier To Be Sentenced Today in Botched Raid, Murder of Kathryn Johnston, 92, in 2006

UPDATE

According to WSBTV, U.S. District Judge Julie Carnes sentenced Smith first, giving him 10 years to serve with three years probation. The sentence for Junnier was six years in prison plus three years supervised release. Tessler was ordered to serve five years in prison plus three years supervised release. All of the sentences are minus time already served. All three must share the funeral costs that were paid for Johnston.

The scumbag cops who pleaded guilty to a federal conspiracy charge in connection with the death of Kathryn Johnston, 92, during a botched drug raid. At the sentencing table at 10 a.m. this morning will be Jason R. Smith, Gregg Junnier and Arthur Tesler. They will be sentenced on a conspiracy charge of violating Ms. Johnston's civil rights which resulted in her death. She was killed by a barrage of gunfire during the 2006 raid.

According to media reports, the U.S. attorney's office has recommended that Smith serve about 12 and half years in federal prison and that Junnier and Tesler serve about 10 years. Prosecutors recommend that Smith and Junnier receive reduced sentences because of their cooperation with authorities. I hope the judge throws the book at these men. It is also my hope that they put them in general population where they can savor the prison experience in its entirety.

Jordan Brown, 11, Killed Father's Pregnant Girlfriend, Kenzie Houk, Charged As Adult

Photo found in NY Daily News

The news gets crazier by the day. Jordan Brown, 11, shot his father's pregnant girlfriend, Kenzie Marie Houk, in the back of the head while she was lying in bed. He then got on a school bus and went to school. Wow. This kid was downright cruel. He was rightly charged as an adult. Apparently Houk, 26, had problems with the boy before. There seemed to have been some jealousy at play here. Houk's brother-in-law, Jason Kraner reportedly said that the child expressed to his son "he actually told my son that he wanted to do that to her."

The child was charged with criminal homicide and criminal homicide of an unborn child, a police spokesperson said. He was being held in Lawrence County Jail. A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday.

According to media reports, the fifth-grader was picked up from school Friday by Pennsylvania State Police, who found Houk's body after her 4-year-old daughter told tree cutters on the property that she thought her mother was dead.

Equally more disturbing is that the boy had told police there was a suspicious black truck on the property that morning, causing investigators to look into a false lead for about five hours. Right. A black truck. The kid is sick. Really sick.

The weapon allegedly used in this heinous crime was a youth model 20-gauge shotgun, which was found in what police believed was the boy's bedroom. The shotgun, which apparently belonged to Brown, is designed for children and such weapons do not have to be registered.

What is this country coming to? This is the third child charged with killing an adult. Crazy. Really crazy and pathetic at the same time. I know that it was a youth shotgun, but why was it accessible to the child when he wasn't hunting? Sorry, but if this kid is found guilty of shooting this woman in cold blood, he needs to be incarcerated for the rest of his life. Look at his face, it's got mean written all over it.

Michelle Malkin Says We Owe Sean Delonas An Apology for the Outrage Over the His Chimp Editorial Cartoon

Conservative blogger Michelle Malkin saw nothing wrong with the NY Post's chimp cartoon. I am not surprised. I visited her site just to see the hateful rhetoric she would be spewing. Below is an excerpt from her post on her blog. Funny, I wonder if she was offended when Miley Cyrus stretched her eyelids to look Asian or I wonder if Michelle Malkin would get upset if someone called her a "chink." So, it is downright ridiculous for her to make hay out of a terrible situation. I think she has forgotten what her ethnic background is. To same holds true for CNN Contributor Amy Holmes, who said that it was only a cartoon.
Going ape over the New York Post
By Michelle Malkin • February 19, 2009 11:12 PM

Al Sharpton and his race racketeers went ape over New York Post staffer Sean Delonas’s anti-stimulus editorial cartoon involving that famous crazed chimp. They picketed the News Corp. building, organized boycotts, targeted advertisers, floated a challenge to Rupert Murdoch’s FCC license — and now the New York Post has apologized.

Oops. Can I say “went ape” anymore? How about “going bananas?” Shall I refrain from asking the race demagogues to quit “monkeying around?” Do I erase “It’s a jungle out there” and “It’s a zoo” from my lexicon? How about “beastly?”

Just a few yelps from Sharpton and the professional protesters who see RAAAAACISM in every inkblot prompted the spunky tab (for whom I write and proudly so) to apologize to “those who were offended by the image.” The Post then goes on to observe in its statement on Sharpton’s cartoon jihad:

…there are some in the media and in public life who have had differences with The Post in the past - and they see the incident as an opportunity for payback. To them, no apology is due.

The only people “offended by the image” of the crazed cartoon chimp — who clearly symbolized the crazed lawmakers on the Hill who passed the stimulus in a frenzy — are the opportunists. No apology is due to anyone except cartoonist Delonas, whose character has been smeared by the manufacturers of grievances demanding his head.

Too many in the MSM continue to treat Sharpton as an entertaining clown, instead of the rabid hound he has always been. (”Hound.” Is that acceptable?)

This is the moral of the story: Submission to racial intimidation yields only more racial intimidation. You don’t get the monkey off your back by feeding it. Yeah, I said “get the monkey off your back.” Sue me. Source: Michelle Malkin
I have to wonder where Michelle Malkin's scruples lie. I am sure she has been discriminated against because she is of Asian descent. In case she hasn't noticed, she still hasn't crossed over to the other side. So, she says that Mr. Delonas is owed an apology. By whom? Who drew the cartoon that incited all this anger? Come on Michelle Malkin, you are a parent, how would you explain racism to your kids? That there is none and blacks are just running around seeking to start trouble? Or how do you explain the slant-eyed jokes aimed at people of Asian descent, like you?

For the record, Ms. Malkin, I take offense to being called a race racketeer. When you have been discriminated against because of the color of your skin, had to sit at the back of a bus, not by choice but against your will; had to use a separate entrance or sit in a "negro section" at the theater; you couldn't attend a university because of the color of your skin; beaten and lynched; basically treated like horsesh**, then you have earned the right to call someone a race racketeer. I spent my formative years in Jamaica, where it was never about race, but about your economic means. I grew up with the mindset that I am limited only by my capabilities. That was not the case in the United States of America 40 years ago, and persists in some pockets of the country to this very day. So, the notion that we accept your rhetoric is insulting on so many levels.

To all my readers, spread the word and tell your friends about Michelle Malkin's empty rhetoric. She seems to have a big problem with racism. She seems to think we are making it all up!

President Bill Clinton Doling Out Advice to President Obama Once Again, Says He Should be More Hopeful

President Bill Clinton is back and he's giving President Obama some advice. All I can say is though he may be right, but we don't want another fallout from his comments. Hillary, control your man! President Clinton says he thinks President Barack Obama should talk more optimistically about the prospects that the nation will recover from its current deep economic woes.

Clinton said that he wants Obama to assure the people that America will surmount this problem. Was that sort of how he wanted to assure the American people that he did not "have sexual relations with woman [Monica Lewinsky]?" At least we haven't heard such salacious mess coming out of the Obama marriage. But at the same time he tried to clean it up by saying, in an interview broadcast Friday on ABC's "Good Morning America" that "I like the fact that he didn't come in and give us a bunch of happy talk."

He also said he believes "you will see some good economic news form the stimulus fairly soon."
For his part, Obama has said he thinks the country will get past the recession, but that it will be a long slog. Sorry President Clinton, stop giving President Obama advice in public. What you discuss privately is a different matter. Hey Hillary, you need to rein in your man! We don't need the drama coming from President Clinton.

Harvey Levin's TMZ Gets Picture of Battered Rihanna Leaked by a Scumbag in the LAPD

I will not directly post the picture of a battered Rihanna. I am appalled that Harvey Levin would allow his site to publish such a horrific picture of the singer. The young lady deserves some privacy and some respect. I am no fan of hers, but I am a woman and I am disturbed at the fact that someone in the Los Angeles Police Department may have broken the law in passing this picture to TMZ. The reason behind such careless actions by TMZ is purely for selfish reasons -- sensationalism. If every victim of domestic violence sees their battered face being aired all over the place, it could potentially cause many victims not to even bother reporting these crimes. What was done to this woman was unconscionable and she deserves privacy and our respect of that right.

To Chris Brown, you are travelling down a dangerous path. If this picture was not doctored, you deserve to be in prison for what you did to this woman. There was no reason for you to do this and there can never be any justification whatsoever. Where are his parents? Why did they allow him to run around like a grown man, on his own and doing whatever he pleased. There was obviously no guidance from either Rihanna's or Chris Brown's parents. He could have just walked away. No one likes a man who beats a woman. Come on. Chris, remember Ike Turner? After he repeatedly beat Tina Turner, guess who rose and who was relegated to the life of a "has-been" and a pariah? Ike Turner. He never, ever regained the respect of the music industry.

TMZ and the scumbag in the LAPD that gave them this picture -- SHAME ON YOU!
