Obama impersonator comedian Reggie Brown's mic cut & he was ushered from stage after racially tinged comedy routine.
Obama impersonator Reggie Brown was ushered off the stage for his racially tinged jokes at Saturday's Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans. Here are a few nuggets from his lips:"My mother loved a black man and, no, she was not a Kardashian," the actor said, referring to Khloe Kardashian, who is married to basketball player Lamar Odom of the Los Angeles Lakers. Sister Kim Kardashian has also had a black boyfriend, Reggie Bush.
Brown also joked about rumors of the president's birthplace, saying Obama was born in Hawaii, "or as the tea partyers call it, Kenya." He also showed a picture of what President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama would look like at the end of his term - Fred Sanford and his sister-in-law Esther, with her fists clenched ready to fight. How stereotypical and insulting is that portrayal? To think some in the audience were yukking it up. I also found it insulting when he showed a progression of George Washington from when he took office to when he left -- as Barbara Bush.
He reportedly didn't stop with Obama. He talked about Newt Gingrich's faltering campaign, saying "his consultants are dropping faster than Anthony Weiner's pants in an AOL chatroom." He also jabbed Tim Pawlenty, who he said needed a spinal tap. Crazy. Serves the Republicans right, you get what you pay for. Front-runner Mitt Romney didn't escape either. Brown said of him, if he were elected, he would have "his first lady, second lady, third lady..." even though the mainstream Mormon church doesn't allow polygamy any more. Actually, they abandoned the practice in the late 19th century.
Hey, you get what you pay for. Remember when Wanda Sykes went over the top during her comedy routine at the White House Correspondents' Dinner? Reggie Brown's routine fares even worse for the Republicans, who have claimed they are inclusive of black voters. You don't get a black comedian to roast a black president in a racially-tinged routine and think you will attract black voters. It backfired in a big way. It should be noted that Brown wasn't ushered off the stage during the stereotypical and racist rant about Barack Obama. He was ushered off when he started talking about the Republican candidates. That speaks volumes about how they view blacks.
