YOUTUBE BLOGGER RECEIVES DEATH THREATS

Kevin M. Oliver, better known on YouTube as ‘Not Your Typical Negro’ (NYTN) confirmed recently he has received credible death threats regarding his recent ground-breaking videos exposing lies, deceit and various forms of church abuse.
“Someone close to me received an anonymous call from a person claiming to be a law enforcement officer…they came across some information and took the risk to get a message to me that I was in danger and to ‘back down some’ because this is ‘bigger’ than what we think,” stated Oliver who posted a YouTube video confirming the threats.
Oliver is apart of a group of church revolutionaries who run the website – www.pimppreacher.com. The website comes equipped with a button to “Report A Pastor.”
A student of Apologetics (defending the Christian Faith with meekness and respect), Oliver has exposed in his videos the false teaching of Celebrity and Mega Pastors such as Kenneth Copeland, Andrew Wommack, Creflo Dollar, Benny Hinn, Eddie Long, Daddy Hagin, etc. Oliver has even researched their stated professional degrees to discover most have obtained online certificates, degrees from unaccredited institutions or honorary doctorates “generously” given to those who make financial contributions to specific institutions.
BUT WHY THE DEATH THREATS
As of late, Kevin Oliver has posted explosive videos on his YouTube site chronicling the saga surrounding Bishop Eddie Long. First, following the law suit settlement between $15-$25 Million dollars, after publicly declaring his innocence and that he would fight, Oliver – equipped with a camera – videotape the New Birth Church parking lot and revealed certain lots completely empty. The video is called “New Birth is a Ghost town.”
Second, Oliver posted a video, equipped with pop-up notes and web links, regarding a sermon preached by Creflo Dollar the following Sunday at World Changers. In the now viral video Creflo speaks to the Eddie Long saga calling it a “wreck” and telling former New Birth members attending services at World Changers “I don’t want you here…go back to where you supposed to be.”
This particular video caught the attention of several news sites, radio shows and TV shows. Sherri Shepherd – co-host of The View – posted the video on her site and spoke of her disdain for Long and how he represents danger to single mothers who bring their children to church to receive help.
Soon the video of Creflos’ wreck was pulled by YouTube and Oliver’s complete YouTube site was shut down.
How did Oliver respond to his site being pulled? He created another video! This time, in humor, Oliver chronicled himself driving his vehicle to the home of Eddie Long to ask him if he had anything to do with his YouTube site being shut down. The video shows Oliver driving down the road and providing viewers insight into the community where Eddie Long lives and it is revealed the type of vehicle Long drives normally. In the end, Oliver drives by Eddie Long’s house, but never stops because he doesn’t see Long’s vehicle in the driveway.
COULD THESE VIDEOS BE THE REASON FOR DEATH THREATS?
Mr. Morris O’Kelly, nationally syndicated writer and editor of www.MrMoKelly.com (aka: The Mo Kelly Report) weighs in on the issue of death threats.
“People issue death threats in my opinion because of fear of further exposure through investigation reporting. When you do…you don’t know the depths it will reach. The death threats suggest a journalist is close,” stated O’Kelly.
O’Kelly is no stranger to death threats and considers them “trophies” to make sense of it all. Currently, he has been under attack my Art Franklin, Publicist for Eddie Long, for breaking the news of Vanessa Long moving out Eddie Long’s house following the settlement and resignation of Elder Bernice King from the New Birth Church.
