Black Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas facing ethics questions after report states he took expensive gifts & vacationed on yacht of real estate magnate Harlan Crow.

Harlan Crow (Mogulite) |
The nation's sole
black Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is on the news radar again after a New York Times article states he allegedly took money and other niceties from
real estate magnate Harlan Crow. It is putting court ethics squarely in the spotlight, as it should. According to the NY Times, Crow helped finance a
Savannah library project dedicated to Thomas, gave Thomas a $15,000 bust of
Abraham Lincoln, and gave his wife,
Virginia Thomas, $500,000 to start a
Tea Party-related group that opposed
President Barack Obama's healthcare legislation. Wait, there's more. The Thomases also vacationed on Crow's yachts and traveled on his jets, and these weren't disclosed, as federal officials are required to do. So, why the silence from Clarence Thomas and SCOTUS? One has to wonder what Harlan Crow got in return for these lavish favors. You see, Crow hasn't been personally dragged before the
Supreme Court, but some of his companies have been involved in federal cases. Not a good message for the only
black Supreme Court justice. He's coming off a little like
Uncle Tom, who can be bought and sold by the highest bidder. Shameful.
Read it on the New York Times.
