Harrisburg, Pa., to Hold Three Days of Prayer & Fasting for "More Cooperative Spirit" for City

Christian, Muslim and Jewish leaders of Harrisburg, Pa., have called for three days of fasting and praying for a "more cooperative spirit" among residents and leaders of the city. Mayor Linda Thompson has also said she will participate in the event, which is aimed at seeking a way out of the city's financial crisis. The voluntary event started at midnight Tuesday and run through 5 p.m. Friday. According to the Patriot News, an ecumenical service ending the fast will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church, 2447 Green St. Shouldn't the leaders also look at ways to curb run-away spending that got the city in the mess in the first place? Just saying.....
