Kim Crawford, 21, was charged with murder after prosecutors said she delivered several fatal blows to her five year old son, Jamar Johnson, because he broke the television playing Wii. According to the New York Daily News, she told the police she hit the child on his back and stomach on June 12 "harder than I've ever hit him." What's equally despicable is the fact that she watched the child's condition deteriorate from internal injuries for six days, never even taking the child to the hospital, out of fear she would get "arrested," police said. Well, she got arrested and yes, she is facing some serious prison time for the death of her child. Absolutely heinous.
The child suffered a ruptured pancreas and intestinal injuries, prosecutors said. He died at Montefiore Hospital late Friday. Prosecutors charged Crawford with murder and manslaughter. She was ordered her held without bond Monday. Source: NY Daily News
Kim Crawford deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison. She placed more value on a television set than her child's welfare. Who cares if he broke the television? That doesn't mean you pummel him to death for it.
