French Comedy About Slavery, "Case Départ" or "Where it Begins" May Offend Many People

Upcoming French comedy about slavery, Case Départ, or "Where it Begins" set to spark controversy when it opens in French cinemas in July.

Thought the upcoming "Django Unchained" with tick you off? Well, the French slavery movie, Case Départ, set to be released July 6th, may just do the trick. The French comedy is written and played by French actors and comedians, Fabrice Eboue and Thomas N'Gijol. The film chronicles the journey two half brothers as they attempt to escape slavery and return to the present day. The trailer is in French, but you can understand the basic gist by watching the scenes. So, it is okay to joke about slavery? I suspect many will be offended by this film and the negative stereotypes it may perpetuate.
