Libertarian Radio Host Neal Boortz Says "We Got Too Damn Many Urban Thugs, We Need More Dead Thugs" In Atlanta

Libertarian radio host Neal Boortz under fire for calling for "dead thugs in Atlanta" over alleged spike in crime, some are saying he is racist.

Did Libertarian radio show host Neal Boortz say on his June 14th broadcast that blacks should be killed, during what some have called a racist tirade? Boortz was talking about crime in Atlanta, which I will concede has gotten out of hand in certain pockets of the city. Not a day goes by when you don't hear of someone being killed on the south side of the city. I really don't think Boortz was being racist. The truth of the matter is that when you hear the reports on the local news, 90 percent of the crime is being committed by young black men. You can't sweep that under a rug. As a black woman, there are neighborhoods in Atlanta I wouldn't venture because of the high crime rates. We have a serious problem and it is caused by a myriad of reasons. Crying racism for the obvious truth isn't the answer. Let's look for viable solutions to put these young black men to work.

This town is starting to look like a garbage heap. And we got too damn many urban thugs, yo, ruining the quality of life for everybody. And I'll tell you what it's gonna take. You people, you are - you need to have a gun. You need to have training. You need to know how to use that gun. You need to get a permit to carry that gun. And you do in fact need to carry that gun and we need to see some dead thugs littering the landscape in Atlanta. We need to see the next guy that tries to carjack you shot dead right where he stands. We need more dead thugs in this city. And let their -- let their mommas -- let their mommas say, "He was a good boy. He just fell in with the good crowd." And then lock her ass up. How many times have we seen cases in which the mothers of the suspects get on television saying their son was a "good boy?" That's not a lie. The crime isn't only directed at whites. There are many incidents of black-on-black crime. Just last night Willie Jones and Josefices Rogers were shot and killed in their recording studio in northwest Atlanta.
