Lawrence S. Eagleburger, former secretary of state under President George W. Bush, died Saturday after a short illness.

Lawrence Eagleburger died in Virginia after a short illness. He was 80. He was the only career foreign service officer to rise to the position of secretary of state. He worked under former presidents Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush. No more details are available on his death.
