Philip Markoff, Craig's List Killer, Found Dead in Nashua Street Jail in Apparent Suicide

Philip Markoff, Craig's List killer, found dead in Nashua Street Jail Saturday night in apparent suicide.

Boston police said Craig's List killer, Philip Markoff, a former Boston University medical student, is dead from an apparent jailhouse suicide. According to MyFoxBoston, sources said Markoff committed suicide Saturday night around 10:20 p.m. at the Nashua Street Jail.

Markoff was charged in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Julissa Brisman in April 2009 and the armed robbery of 29-year-old Las Vegas prostitute Trisha Leffler at Boston hotels. Authorities say he met these women through Craigslist ads posted in the "erotic services" category.

Markoff would have celebrated the one-year anniversary of his marriage yesterday to his ex-fiancee if he didn't get arrested, BostonHerald.com reports. He plead not guilty to the murder and robbery. Markoff was scheduled to stand trial in March 2011. Source
I guess his conscience got the better of him and he just decided he would take the easy way out. Here's a young man who seemed to have a bright future, but he had a dirty secret. He was allegedly a calculating and cold-blooded murderer.
