Philip Markoff, Craig's List killer, found dead in Nashua Street Jail Saturday night in apparent suicide.
Boston police said Craig's List killer, Philip Markoff, a former Boston University medical student, is dead from an apparent jailhouse suicide. According to
MyFoxBoston, sources said Markoff committed suicide Saturday night around 10:20 p.m. at the Nashua Street Jail.
Markoff was charged in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Julissa Brisman in April 2009 and the armed robbery of 29-year-old Las Vegas prostitute Trisha Leffler at Boston hotels. Authorities say he met these women through Craigslist ads posted in the "erotic services" category.
Markoff would have celebrated the one-year anniversary of his marriage yesterday to his ex-fiancee if he didn't get arrested, BostonHerald.com reports. He plead not guilty to the murder and robbery. Markoff was scheduled to stand trial in March 2011. Source
I guess his conscience got the better of him and he just decided he would take the easy way out. Here's a young man who seemed to have a bright future, but he had a dirty secret. He was allegedly a calculating and cold-blooded murderer.
