SHOCK: Eight people have been shot, with four dead and four wounded, in a shooting outside a downtown Buffalo, NY, restaurant early Saturday. According to Fox News, police said the victims were leaving a large party outside the City Grill bar and restaurant about 2:30 a.m. when gunfire erupted. According to Buffalo News, there were several parties at the restaurant, including a Texas man who had returned to his hometown to celebrate his first anniversary was reportedly killed.Police sources tell The Buffalo News that a Texas couple originally from Buffalo was holding an informal gathering inside the restaurant ahead of a more formal celebration to be held today in honor of their wedding, which took place in Texas last year. Between 2:30 and 3 a.m., sources said, a fight broke out inside the restaurant. A DJ turned the restaurant's lights on and ordered everyone out, according to sources, and the shooting happened shortly thereafter.This is a sad turn of events. Buffalo police have reportedly taken one person into custody. News reports have said the suspect may be connected to the gun violence.
"There were good people there and s***heads," a police source told The News, speaking of the crowd inside the restaurant.
Early reports were that four people were killed, but officials raised the death toll to five early this afternoon. Of the dead, at least two are men and two are women. Family members have confirmed that Tia McNeil, 25, and Tiffany Wilhite, 32, were among the victims. Source
UPDATE#1: The dead have been identified as Shawnita McNeil, Tiffany Wilhite, Willie McCaa III and Daniel Mackin. The injured have been identified as Demario Vass, who is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head, James Robbs Jr., Shamar Davis and Tillman Ward.
