Rod Blagojevich Found Guilty on One Count of Lying to a FBI Agent

BREAKING: Rod Blagojevich found guilty on one count #24 -- a felony of lying to federal agent, according to CNN.

If this is all they found him guilty on, well this is a big victory for him. Given the magnitude of the crimes -- racketeering -- a single count is no big victory for the government. Of course, he'll think he won, but he won't come out of this smelling like roses. He will be branded a blowhard and a sleazebag by many. His public career is over. He is a fringe figure who may not end up in prison for this one count. Of course, there's always a career in television. The government has already come out saying it will retry on some, if not all of the 23 counts. The reality is that another trial is going to cost American taxpayers like me millions. The government has to be cautious not to come across as a bully in pursuing Rod Blagojevich a second time. Sorry, but this is a big loss for the government.
