Eboo Patel Says Opposition to Ground Zero Mosque Similar to Blacks Sitting at Back of Bus

Eboo Patel tells Don Lemon that opposition to Ground Zero mosque comparable to blacks being told not to sit at the front of the bus.

I watched CNN Newsroom with Don Lemon a few minutes ago and I am appalled that Eboo Patel, founder & director of Interfaith Youth Core and a Muslim, who supports the mosque being built near Ground Zero in New York City could have the nerve to state that any opposition to the project going forward is like blacks being told that they can sit anywhere on the bus, but just not at the front. Sorry, but blacks didn't pilot the airplanes that crashed in World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

I am also disgusted that the Muslims who are pushing for this mosque to be built near the area have so little regard for the people who lost relatives on that terrible morning. Context is everything. If they stopped to think about how the victims felt, then we could have a constructive dialog. They say this mosque will bring people together. I scarcely believe it will under these circumstances. Shame on Eboo Patel for trying to compare what happened to blacks in America during one of the darkest periods in its history to the opposition to building  a mosque. Simply disgraceful.

For the record, I am in no way saying that all Muslims are bad. On the contrary. There are many hard-working, law-abiding and decent Muslims in this country. We cannot have constructive dialog if we don't consider the position of each side.
