Keith Johnson Charged with Second-Degree Murder in Shooting Deaths of 4 at Buffalo's City Grill

Keith Johnson charged with second-degree murder in the shooting deaths of four at Buffalo's City Grill.

Keith Johnson, 25, of Minnesota Avenue, Buffalo, has been charged with four counts of second-degree murder in the shooting at City Grill that left four dead and four injured. Buffalo police said additional charges against Johnson are pending.

The shooting occured around 2:40 a.m. on Main St. in downtown Buffalo in front of the City Grill. The police believe there was only one shooter. According to WGRZ, Buffalo Police Commissioner Dan Derenda said Daniel Mackin and his wife were celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary with friends from the Buffalo area when a "fight of some sort" broke out inside the restaurant. Mackin was killed but his wife was uninjured. The restaurant was then closed and the altercation continued outside, where the shooting took place.

UPDATE: Murder charges against Keith Johnson have been dismissed. The police are back to square one. Seems like the police jumped the gun in this one. Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita requested that the charges against Johnson be dropped because he was not sure beyond a reasonable doubt that Keith Johnson was the shooter. Johnson is being held on a parole detainer.
