President Barack Obama Pleads with Voters Not to "Give into Fear," "Let's Reach for Hope"

President Barack Obama pleads with voters not to give in "to fear" and asks "let's reach for hope."

President Barack Obama has a message for you and I: "Don't give in to fear." "Let's reach for hope." He also said Monday during a fundraising stop in Milwaukee, that the Republican Party doesn't solve problems. I wonder how the President Obama expects someone who has lost their job, facing bankruptcy and foreclosure should view his "let's reach for hope" mantra?

This week offers not just a window for Obama to campaign — Congress is gone, his summer vacation awaits — but also a window into his thinking about the fall campaign. Despite deep voter impatience over the sickly economy, the White House is betting people will stick with Democrats if the choice is framed as one between those who act and those who obstruct. On Monday, he warned of reliving a dreadful past, saying Republicans want voters "to be afraid of the future." Personally, I believe neither party really cares about the people on Main Street. The Democrats have shown us that with a majority in the House and Senate they crash and burn. Well, if this Democratic Congress is "change we can believe in" then I will have to say no thank you, but the Republican Party is no better.
