Nicole John, daughter of U.S. ambassador to Thailand, Eric John, dies after falling from 22th floor window of Manhattan luxury high-rise apartment.
I guess there is truth to the saying, when you play, you pay. It is devastating that Nicole John, the 17 year old daughter of Eric John, U.S. ambassador to Thailand, plunged to her death from a Midtown luxury high-rise early Friday morning, according to the
NY Daily News.
Nicole John fell out of a 25th story window of the Herald Square Towers on W. 34th St., landing on the building's third-floor overhang, according to police sources. She was killed instantly.
Investigators believe Nicole John was part of a group of young revelers who were partying in the 25th-floor apartment near the Empire State Building in the moments before the 4:15 a.m. tragedy, according to sources.
"They'd been drinking," said Robert Pena, the building engineer at the Herald Square Towers, who saw the pack of partygoers walking through the building's lobby just before 4 a.m. Source
This is a very sad turn of events for Eric John and his family. John, was appointed ambassador to Thailand by the State Department in 2007. Still, could someone tell me why this 17 year old girl was out at 4 a.m. drinking and partying? Where were her parents? I also blame Ilan Nassimi, 25, who rents the apartment, and gave a minor alcohol to drink. Police said he was arrested Friday on charges of giving alcohol to a minor and is awaiting arraignment in Manhattan court.
