Texas Mayor Jayne Peters & Daughter Corrine Peters Dead in Murder-Suicide in Home

Texas mayor Jayne Peters and teenage daughter, Corrine Peters, found shot to death in their Coppell home.

Coppell, TX, Mayor Jayne Peters and her daughter, Corrine Peters, 19, were found shot to death in their home.

According to Fox News, Community Information Officer Sharon Logan said the police discovered after council members expressed concern that the usually prompt mayor did not show up for a council meeting. Police found no signs of forced entry.

Ms. Peters, 55, served as mayor of Coppell since 2009. Coppell is located 15 miles northwest of Dallas. Her daughter graduated from Coppell High School this year.

UPDATE#1: According to media reports, the deaths have been classified as a murder-suicide.  The mayor reportedly shot her 19-year-old daughter in the head then shot herself in the head.
