Kenny Guinn, former Nevada governor, dead at 73, after falling from roof.

SHOCK: Former Nevada governor, Kenny C. Guinn, died Thursday morning. He was 73. Governor Guinn was well-liked and reached across the aisle to work with the Democrats in his state. According to media reports, police responded to a report of a man who fell off the roof at his home Thursday morning. His body was reportedly taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit. He was later pronounced dead.

His sister, Shirley Blair, reportedly said they think a heart attack was the cause of his death. Kenny Guinn, who was a Republican, was elected governor in 1998 and re-elected in 2002, where he served until 2007. He also served as superintendent of Clark County Schools from 1969 - 1978. According to media reports, he retired to enter the financial industry, where he became vice president of Nevada Savings in 1978 and took over as president, chairman and CEO in 1987. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Governor Guinn. This is a real tragedy.
