RNC Chairman Michael Steele Condemns NAACP's Resolution Calling Tea Party "Racist"

RNC chairman Michael Steele condemns NAACP's resolution calling the Tea Party racist, says claims are destructive and not true.

RNC chairman Michael Steele has issued a statement condemning the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's resolution to call the Tea Party racist. This comes on the heels of Sarah "Quitter" Palin's repudiation of the resolution as "regressive."

“Recent statements claiming the Tea Party movement is racist are not only destructive, they are not true. Tea Party activists are your mom or dad, your local grocer, banker, hairdresser or doctor. They are a diverse group of passionate Americans who want to ensure that our nation returns to founding principles that honor the Constitution, limit government’s role in our lives, and support policies that empower free markets and free enterprise. Enough with the name-calling.” Source: RNC
Personally, I believe there are racist elements in the Tea Party movement, but they are also in the Democratic and Republican parties. It is also very hypocritical on the part of the NAACP to ignore the racist rhetoric emanating from the New Black Panther Party. They are as much a hate group as any neo-Nazi or white supremacist groups in our midst. The reality is that the NAACP is losing its effectiveness fast. This diminishes the little credibility they have left.
