Fliers Distributed at Boise State University Called "Offensive & Racist," Says "Blacks are Walking STD Factories"

Students at Boise State University have decried some fliers being distributed on campus as offensive and racist. The fliers first surfaced last week on World AIDS Day. The fliers tell people how to avoid contracting AIDS -- "no sex with bisexuals or people who inject drugs." What has most students irate is the language used to describe African Americans: "Blacks are walking STD factories” and “once u go black we don't want u back.”

One student, Jalara Walker, an African-American, who came to BSU from California, told KTVB.com that she reported the matter to the dean's office and one week later, she said the school has taken little action to address the matter.

The fliers are insulting to the entire student body and faculty of Boise State University, not just the African Americans. Boise State University has nearly 19,000 students enrolled and 361 are black.
