"Ok, so, this is total crap, we sit the kids down to watch 'The Charlie Brown Christmas Special' and our muslim president is there, what a load.....try to convince me that wasn't done on purpose. Ask the man if he believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he will give you a 10 minute disertation (sic) about it....w...hen the answer should simply be 'yes'...."Gee, excuse me for not realizing that Charlie Brown was more important than sending our men and women in harm's way to fight a war on foreign soil. I am so disgusted with the level of disrespect that the office of the presidency now commands. Also lost on many politicians is the fact that many think Facebook is private and only a limited number of people can see their posts. That is furthest from the truth. The reality is that it can be made public and come back to haunt them. Mr. Wiseman would not want any of his constituents to bad-mouth him in such a manner.
In Wiseman's extensive thread that attacked the president, his supporters and Muslims, he stated "...you obama people need to move to a muslim country...oh wait, that's America....pitiful."
At another point he said, "you know, our forefathers had it written in the original Constitution that ONLY property owners could vote, if that has stayed in there, things would be different........" Source: Commercial Appeal
UPDATE#1: Mayor Wiseman has issued an apology for his incendiary comments written on his Facebook page that the President Obama deliberately timed a speech last week to block the "Peanuts" Christmas special. The Commercial Appeal reports Wiseman e-mailed the media Monday to say he regrets offending anyone with what he described as a "poor attempt at tongue-in-cheek humor amongst friends." He also says he allowed things to go too far. The town issued a statement on its Web site saying the mayor's views do not reflect its official ideals and beliefs. Wiseman has since deleted his Facebook account.
