Police Arrest Another Nigerian Man on Second Northwest Flight 253 from Amsterdam in Detroit

URGENT:  Police have surrounded Northwest Flight #253 from Amsterdam to Detroit. Passengers reportedly being deplaned. Reports of suspicious activity. A Nigerian man is in police custody after reportedly becoming verbally abusive during the flight board. Law enforcement is stating that this was a non-serious matter. No explosives were found on board or on this person, though it is being reported that he boarded the plane in Lagos, Nigeria with no luggage. They are also saying that he was ill.

According to Fox News, Metro Airport spokesman John Witner said there was a report of suspicious activity on the Delta/Northwest flight 253 from Amsterdam Sunday. That is the same flight on which Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, a Nigerian national, attempted to blow up the plane as it approached Detroit on Christmas Day.

WJBK Detroit is reporting that a Nigerian man has locked himself in the bathroom of the plane. The flight requested emergency assistance upon landing. The plane is being held in a secluded area of the airport. A verbally abusive passenger was on board. There were 257 passengers on crew on board the flight. The man was allegedly in the bathroom for a while and became angry when he was questioned by the flight crew.
