Steven Choi, SoCal Council Member, Shows Up at Truman Awards with Picture On his Back Equating Nancy Pelosi to Stalin

Last Friday House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was the headliner at the Democratic Party of Orange County's 15th Annual Harry Truman Awards. That didn't sit well with a group of protesters, who rented a room at the Irvine Hilton to protest the awards and Pelosi. Irvine Councilman and Assembly candidate Steven Choi was in attendance. Choi is seen in a suit, tie and with a picture on his back equating Nancy Pelosi to Joseph Stalin.

According to The Scavenger blog, Choi was interviewed by the OC Register and said:
"I'm a Republican Party member and went there to express my disapproval of her policies. I have big concerns with what is going on with the government pushing down the mandated health issues... As a small businessman it would impact me."

From what I have read, the Irvine City Council is non-partisan, but Steven Choi has taken a rather extreme step in the direction of conservative partisanship to show up in the lobby of the hotel and later in a room full of protesters wearing this despicable picture on his back. What he has done is to embarrass himself, the city council and his constituents. He has no tact, no class and he should not be viewed as a serious contender for the assembly position.
