The 73rd Precinct in Brooklyn, New York, is in the spotlight and for the wrong reason. A 32-year-old woman hanged herself inside a police holding cell at the precinct after she was arrested on marijuana charges.
According the the NY Post, the unidentified woman, used her pants to form a crude noose, with which she slung around a horizontal cell bar at 6:47 p.m. The woman was reportedly found dead 40 minutes after she was placed alone in the cell by officers. A detective made the discovery and the woman was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The woman was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession. Well, let's see how the police will spin this incident.
UPDATE#1: The Hinterland Gazette reached out to the NYPD and we are waiting for a response from them via e-mail as promised. The identity of this woman still has not been revealed and we plan on following this case to the very end.
