Police Officer Donald Hassiak Killed After Hit-and-Run on Danbury CT Road, Suspect Still At-Large

Police Officer Donald Hassiak killed after being hit by vehicle, which fled the scene, on Danbury, CT street.

Another police officer has been killed. According to the CTNow, Danbury police officer Donald Hassiak, 41, was riding his bicycle to work along Route 7 in New Milford when he was hit by a vehicle, which fled the scene. The driver of the vehicle is still being sought by police.

Officer Hassiak was reportedly taken to Danbury Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have since recovered the vehicle and have identified a person of interest in this tragedy.
