Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-PA) Under Fire for Comments that "Minorities" aren't "Good American People"

Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-PA)under fire after making comments that implied minorities are not "good American people."

Beside the fact that I abhor the word minorities, I find it equally despicable that an elected official could try to denigrate people of color and other non-whites. Rep. Paul E. Kanjorski (D-PA), who is locked into a tight re-election race, made comments on Wednesday that implied minorities are not "good American people."

"We're giving relief to people that I deal with in my office every day now, unfortunately," Mr. Kanjorski said during deliberations Wednesday between House and Senate negotiators over the pending financial reform bill.

"Because of the longevity of this recession, these are people — and they're not minorities and they're not defective and they're not all the things you'd like to insinuate that these programs are about — these are average, good American people," he added. Source
Shouldn't the voters in his district send a message to this idiot that his days in Congress are numbered? There is no room for this insensitivity in Congress. Why am I not surprised that this story stayed below the liberal mainstream media outlets' radar?
