Gun Violence Claims Life of Terrence Webster, 2, After Family Ambushed Near Their Philadelphia Home

Terrence Webster, 2, dies from bullet wound to the head Monday after his family was ambushed as they approached their home early Sunday morning.

It absolutely breaks my heart when I hear of children being shot to death. According to Philly.com, at about 11:08 a.m. Terrence Webster, 2, died from a bullet wound to the head. The child was reportedly returning home with his parents, Tisheta Green and Thomas Webster, along with his four year old brother, Thomas Webster Jr., to their apartment in a publich-housing development on 9th Street at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday when a gunman ambushed the family.

"He died on his own, thank God for that," said Robin Powell, Webster's maternal grandmother, who had sat vigil by the Chester tot's bedside. "We wouldn't have ever been able to make the decision to take his tiny body off of life support."

While grateful that his soul will rest in peace, Powell is enraged that a killer stole his life away before he had a chance to live it. Powell said that the four were able to escape gunfire outside of the home and get inside, but when the unidentified gunman shot two bullets through the door, one of them struck Thomas Webster in the hand and then hit Terrence in the head. Gun violence has visited this family before, as recent as April 17, when Ms. Powell's son, Thomas Lee Green Jr., was shot and killed by Omar Rashad Hooks, 16, who has been arrested. The police have not released a motive in the slaying. This little boy did not deserve the fate he was dealt.
