SHOCK: New Mexico State police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide. Two children, ages 10 and 12, were reportedly shot to death by their father, Melvin Martinez, who then took his life.

State Police have not released a motive for the killings, which occurred in the community of La Puebla just east of Espanola. According to KRQE, the bodies were discovered by a family member about 2 p.m.
