Tampa Police Officers David Curtis & Jeffrey Kocab Fatally Shot During Routine Traffice Stop

Two Tampa police officers, David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab, fatally shot during routine traffice stop early Tuesday morning.

Two Tampa police officers have died following a shooting during a routine traffic stop. According to MyFoxTampa, Officer David Curtis, 31, died at Tampa General Hospital and Officer Jeffrey Kocab, also 31, died earlier following the shooting early Tuesday morning.

A massive search is on for a man and woman who were driving a red Toyota Camry. Police say Curtis pulled over the Camry because it didn't have a visible tag. He called for backup because the male suspect had a misdemeanor warrant.

A few minutes later, police received a 911 call that the officers had been shot. Authorities found the officers sprawled on the ground. The male suspect is believed to be the shooter. Source

It is a sad commentary that police officers continue to come under fire by rogue elements in our society. My thought and prayers go out the families of the officers. Officer Kocab's wife is nine-months pregnant, thile Officer Curtis is a father of four.
