White House Defends President Obama's Golf Outing over Weekend in Face of BP Gulf Oil Spill Crisis

White House defends President Obama's golf outing last weekend as country continues to grapple with massive BP Gulf oil spill.

A White House spokesman, Bill Burton, has defended President Obama's golfing outing this weekend, as the BP oil spill in the Gulf continues to wreak havoc on marine life and the welfare of the residents in the affected areas. Sorry, but President Obama was wrong for going on this golf trip, just as BP CEO Hayward was for going on a yachting trip. Though I find the condemnation coming from the Republicans a little hypocritical, it is just poor PR on the President part to be seen yukking it up on the golf course as though all is well.

Burton said, "I don't think that there is a person in this country that doesn't think that their president ought to have a little time to clear his mind." Really? Wow. Let's see, when I am faced with a personal crisis, the last thing I do is go out for a night on the town. I hunker down and try to find a solution to the problem.
