Rep. Steve King (R-IA) says President Obama favors blacks over whites during an interview on G. Gordon Liddy's radio show Monday.
Rep. Steve King (R-IA), known for making incendiary statements, has put his foot in his mouth again. This time he said President Barack Obama favors blacks over whites. Really? Does that explain why he only has a handful of blacks in his administration? His comments warrant an apology because they are divisive and patently wrong. King made this ridiculous comment Monday during an interview on G. Gordon Liddy's radio talk show.
"I'm offended by Eric Holder and the president also, their posture," said King, 61. "It looks like Eric Holder said that white people in America are cowards when it comes to race."
King continued: "The president has demonstrated that he has a default mechanism in him that breaks down the side of race on the side that favors the black person in the case of professor Gates and officer Crowley." Source
Well, it seems that people in the GOP are finally starting to realize that King is toxic and his brand of rhetoric should have no place in the party, especially if it wants to attract black and Latino voters. GOP House candidate Cory Gardner of Colorado canceled a planned $100 per-plate fundraiser where King was to speak. His appearance was also canceled at a Colorado tea party gathering where he was scheduled to appear. Sorry, but John Boehner and Eric Cantor should vehemently disavow his comments. One shouldn't be surprised that he made these statements on G. Gordon Liddy's show. He has also been known to make incendiary comments.
