Hector Castro Charged with Capital Murder for Fatally Beating Toddler Over US-Ghana World Cup Soccer Match

Hector Castro charged with capital murder for fatally beating his two-year old stepdaughter becuase she wouldn't stop crying as he watched World Cup soccer match.

Hector Castro, 27, is accused of fatally beating his two-year old stepdaughter when she wouldn't stop crying as he watched a World Cup game has been charged with capital murder, according to media reports.

Castro, who lives in McAllen, TX, was charged Monday after his Saturday arrest and is being held on $1 million bond at the Hidalgo County jail. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, police chief Victor Rodriguez says Castro told investigators the toddler wouldn't stop crying while he was trying to watch the U.S.-Ghana matchup Saturday.

This is unconscionable and why are these men abusing their stepchildren? This is the second incident the Hinterland Gazette has reported on in a week. The police said the child was severely beaten and suffered several broken ribs. There's more. According to the AJC, police said a screw or bolt was forced down her throat in an apparent attempt to make it look like she choked to death.

I am sure Hector Castro won't see the outside of another prison for the rest of his life. He should get the death penalty for this unspeakable act against this child. Was the soccer match really that important in the grand scheme of things?
