Winnie Mandela, Says Ex-Husband, Nelson Mandela, "Betrayed Black Population of South Africa" & Calls Desmond Tutu a "Cretin"

Winnie Mandela, disgraced ex-wife of Nelson Mandela, says he "betrayed the black population of South Africa and calls Archbishop Desmond Tutu a "cretin."

Winnie Mandela, disgraced ex-wife of Nelson Mandela, is slinging some mud and I seriously doubt she will be taken seriously. According to the U. K. Mail, she has accused Nelson Mandela of betraying South Africa's black population. She said he has done nothing for the poor and should not have accepted the Nobel Peace prize with the man who jailed him, F. W. de Klerk. It is amazing that she would seek to make such baseless accusations at this juncture, considering she has some serious credibility issues since she was jailed for six years for the kidnap of Stompie Moeketsi. Sorry, sounds like she has some sour grapes over being dumped by her ex-husband.

According to the U.K. Mail, Winnie Mandela said her ex-husband had become a 'corporate foundation' who was 'wheeled out' only to raise money for the ANC party he once led. She also had some words for Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who she called a cretin and claimed the sacrifices of Steve Biko and others in the fight against apartheid were being overlooked. Sorry, this woman is getting senile. The problems in South Africa are bigger than Nelson Mandela. They have one of the highest murder and unemployment rates in the world.

Stompie Moeketsi, 14, had been murdered three years earlier by members of Mrs Mandela's bodyguard, the Mandela United Football Club. She also caused outrage by endorsing the punishment of apartheid collaborators with ' necklacing' - putting burning tyres around their necks. Yesterday she said: 'This name Mandela is an albatross around the necks of my family.

'You all must realise that Mandela was not the only man who suffered. There were many others, hundreds who languished in prison and died.
'Mandela did go to prison and he went in there as a young revolutionary but look what came out.

'Mandela let us down. He agreed to a bad deal for the blacks. Economically we are still on the outside. The economy is very much "white". 'I cannot forgive him for going to receive the Nobel with his jailer de Klerk. Hand in hand they went. Do you think de Klerk released him from the goodness of his heart? 'He had to. The times dictated it, the world had changed.'
Nelson and Winnie Mandela divorced in 1996, after being married for 38, though they lived together for only five. You would think she wants to live out her golden years in harmony and peace, instead of starting a hot mess. It would be great if she could also look at her shortcomings and be thankful that Nelson Mandela was decent enough not to trash her in the press. I would venture to say, she's the real cretin and is a stain on the legacy of Nelson Mandela for her criminal behavior.

UPDATE#1: Winnie Mandela is now disputing that the interview ever took place. Someone leaned on her really hard. I find it hard to believe that Nadira Naipaul, wife of V. S. Naipaul, would have made this up. Mandela said, "I would like to state categorically: I did not give Mrs Naipaul an interview," she said in a statement. "I will in the coming days deal with what I see as an inexplicable attempt to undermine the unity of my family, the legacy of Nelson Mandela and the high regard with which the name Mandela is held here and across the globe." Right.
