SHOCK: Nathaniel Brown, an employee at Ohio State University shot and wounded two co-workers in a maintenance building on the university's campus. Larry Wallington, 48, building services manager was killed at the scene, while Henry Butler, 60, operations shift leader, was injured and is in stable condition at OSU Medical Center, according to the Columbus Dispatch. Brown then turned the gun on himself. He was pronounced dead when he arrived at a nearby hospital. No students were unjured and classes were held as scheduled.The shooting was first reported at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday and the police chief said the two wounded workers were taken to Ohio State University Medical Center, where one was in critical condition and the other was in stable condition, he said.
The university said in a statement that the shooting involved its facilities department and said the suspect was one of the two people who had been wounded, but it did not say which one. A university spokesman, Jim Lynch, declined further comment. He said said Brown showed up at 3:30 a.m., wearing dark clothes, carrying a backpack and two guns. Out for nothing but trouble. What a sad day for the family of Larry Wallington.
Ohio State University is the nation's largest institution of higher learning, with more than 55,000 students enrolled at the its main campus in Columbus.
