Former Harvard Law Student, Brittany Smith, Indicted as Accessory in Slaying of Justin Cosby in Harvard Univ. Dorm

Brittany Smith, former Harvard University student, indicted as accessory to slaying, other charges, of Justin Cosby in Kirkland House dormitory.

Brittany Smith, 22, an aspiring lawyer from Harlem and a former Harvard University student, pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Middlesex Superior Court to being an accessory after the fact and other charges in the slaying last May of a Justin Cosby, 21, at a Harvard dormitory.

The prosecution alleges that Smith gave her ID card to the three New York men who fatally shot Cosby at the Kirkland House dormitory. She also allegedly hid the gun that was used and lied to authorities about her involvement. According to the Boston Globe, she was also indicted on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, willfully misleading a grand jury and willfully misleading a police office. She was ordered held in lieu of $2,500 cash bail at her arraignment.

This is a sad turn of events in the life of Brittany Smith, but if the accusations against her are true, then she did herself no good by hanging around alleged thugs and she certainly learned nothing from her law classes. She got the chance of a lifetime to make something good of herself at Harvard and it seems that she didn't.
