.Walt Baker, CEO of Tennessee Hospitality Assn., apologizes for offensive email comparing Michelle Obama to chimp in Tarzan movies.
The chimp jokes about First Lady Michelle Obama continues. This time, Walt Baker, CEO of Tennessee Hospitality Association, is the latest to send such an offensive email, in the tradition of Sen. Diane Black's (R-TN) legislative aide, Sherri Goforth's, racially-charged email about President Barack Obama and state trooper Brent Gobbell's, "Proud to be White" email. Baker sent the email to several people, including members of the press and a public official. He has issued an apology for the email which compares the First Lady to Cheetah from the Tarzan movies. Funny, he even though he apologized, he's still confused as to why people would consider the email offensive because he considered it as "political humor." Er, Mrs. Obama is not a chimp and blacks have been compared to chimps in a derogatory manner. I can't recall ever seeing Laura Bush or her mother-in-law Barbara Bush portrayed as albino chimps."I deeply apologize to anyone who is offended by this action," Baker said in a statement. "I hope that those who know me realize that the message was not intended to be malicious or hurtful in any way and can find it in their hearts to forgive me." "I did not think or consider its implications, other than that it was political humor," he wrote. "I am saddened that anyone misinterpreted the sentiments behind the e-mail." "I have never considered myself bigoted, or racially insensitive, or a racist," Baker told News Channel 5.As you can see from Walt Baker's photograph, he is a Greek Adonis. He will literally turn heads 360 degrees. Of course, I am being facetious. He is fugly! The reality is that no amount of apologizing will ever change the fact that the portrayal of Michelle Obama in the email was very offensive.
