Massive Explosion at Kleen Energy Systems Plant Site in Middletown, CT, Multiple Injuries & Fatalities
URGENT: Fewer then 50 people have been injured and at least two killed after a massive explosion at the Kleen Energy Systems, which is being built on the Connecticut Rive in the southern section of Middletown Sunday at about 11 a.m.
Al Santostefano, the deputy fire marshal in Middletown, told the Associated Press that 50 construction workers were in the section of the power plant where the explosion happened, and some people survived, so the number of injured is fewer than 50.
According to media reports, medical rescue personnel said four of the injured were critical, and two were dead at the site of the plant on River Road.
