Ugandan Pastor Martin Ssempa Shows Gay Porn in Church, in Bid to Garner Support for Anti-Gay Law

Martin Ssempa, Ugandan pastor, screens gay porn in church in bid to garner support for anti-homosexuality bill that could impose death penalty.

Martin Ssempa, a Ugandan pastor, is reportedly showing gay pornography at a church in Kampala, Uganda, in a bid to garner support for a proposed law that would impose the death penalty on some gays. The proposed bill has sparked protests in London, New York and Washington D.C. He touts himself on his website as "a passionate voice in the global fight against HIV/AIDS. He wrote a response to Pastor Rick Warren over the Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009. It should be noted that Warren wrote to Ssempa and other Ugandan pastors to speak out against the proposed bill. It is unconscionable and inhumane to sentence someone to death because of one's sexual orientation. It seems that some people in Uganda are still living in the dark ages. Let's  not forget Uganda's history of civil war and economic catastrophe. In the 1970s and 80s, the country was notorious for its human rights violations, which started during the military dictatorship of Idi Amin from 1971 - 1979, and then when Milton Obote returned to power, after being ousted by Amin. Up to a half million people were killed in state-sponsored violence.
The screening was attended by around 300 supporters crammed into an evangelical church in the Ugandan capital after plans for a "million-man march" were thwarted by police.

"We had planned to have a million-man and -woman march in Kampala but unfortunately we were told that we could not march because of security concerns," Martin Ssempa told the crowd.

"The major argument homosexuals have is that what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms is nobody's business but do you know what they do in their bedrooms?," the pastor asked. Ssempa then displayed a slide show of gay pornographic pictures.

"This one is eating another man's anus (eds: correct)," the pastor said, before going into graphic scatological descriptions. "Is this what Obama wants to bring to Africa?" he said, following fierce US criticism of a Ugandan bill drafted last year that would further criminalize homosexuality. Source: AFP
Er, how is this President Obama's fault? Homosexuality have been around since Biblical times. Ssempa says he plans to show the films regularly to educate churchgoers on gay sex and also plans to show the videos to parliamentarians. He says some churchgoers cried after watching the videos, which he said he downloaded from the Internet.
