Teacher Joseph Gullotta, Aide Abraham Fox, Turns 4th Grade Classroom into Wrestlemania, as Tomas Rivera & Justin Stokel Fought

Joseph Gullotta, teacher at Public School 65, aide Abraham Fox, turn fourth grade classroom into Wrestlemania as two kids fought and got bloodied over pencils.

Joseph Gullotta, a fourth grade teacher at Public School 65 in Ozone Park, Queens, and his aide, Abraham Fox, were charged with child endangerment on Monday and yanked out of the classroom for allegedly staging a fourth-grade version of a steel-cage wrestling match. They played referees while the children watched some of their classmates being bloodied. What I want to know is why their pictures have not been released to the general public yet.

This despicable act occurred Thursday after Tomas Rivera, 10, got into an argument with a classmate at the school, officials said. Mr. Gullotta then allegedly suggested that instead of taking out his anger on his classmate, he should wrestle another classmate Justin Stokel, 9, according to the NY Daily News. It gets worst. A girl in the class was told to close the door, while other students were told to stand at a safe distance while the kids got ready to rumble. One student reportedly told the Daily News that "everybody in my class was laughing." "They were fighting over some pencils and they were bleeding." There was even reports that Tomas' head struck Justin's mouth leading to a swollen and badly bruised head and cuts that may have needed stitches. How in the world could any teacher in his or her right mind allow this to happen? How do you explain to parents what happened in that classroom? What is equally horrific is that the two men reportedly prohibited the boys from going to the nurse for almost two hours and told them to lie about what had transpired in the classroom.

Gullotta, 29, has been sent to the "rubber-room," which is a teacher- reassignment room, where he will do nothing all day and still get paid. I am sorry, but this "dynamic duo," Gullotta and Fox, should still be behind bars and denied bail for this heinous act. The reality is when parents send their children to school for an education, the least you expect is that teachers realize they have a moral obligation to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our kids. This is a travesty.
