Fashion Designer Alexander McQueen, 40, Commits Suicide, Found in London Home

Fashion designer Alexander McQueen, 40, committed suicide. He was reportedly found deceased in his London home.

McQueen's secondary line, McQ, was to be presented Thursday as part of New York Fashion Week. KCD, the PR company handling the show, says the presentation is canceled.

His office has confirmed his death and said, 'It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.' He was found at his home in London.

McQueen's edgy creations have been spotted on many red carpets and have been worn by celebrities including Lady Gaga, Sandra Bullock, and Cameron Diaz. It is ironic that Alexander McQueen's life ended in the same way as Isabella Blow, the fashion guru who helped to launch his career. She committed suicide three years ago.
