Mark Stephen Foster, Fourth Grade Teacher at Inskip Elementary in Knoxville, TN, Shoots Principal & Assistant Principal

Mark Stephen Foster, fourth grade teacher at Inskip Elementary School arrested for shooting principal and assistant principal.

Mark Stephen Foster, 48, a fourth-grade teacher at Inskip Elementary School in Knoxville, TN, has been accused of shooting and wounding the principal Elisa Luna and assistant principal Amy Brace. Foster allegedly went on a shooting rampage about an hour after the children were dismissed due to the snow, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Ms. Luna is reportedly in critical condition at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, while Ms. Brace is listed in stable condition. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for Foster's actions, but there is nothing that could ever justify his actions.

Foster reportedly received an apprentice teacher license for grades K-6 in the summer of 2007. An apprentice license is generally issued when someone first starts teaching, before they have tenure, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Department of Education told the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Knoxville Police Chief Sterling P. Owen IV said a revolver believed to have been used in the shootings was recovered. The school will remain closed for the rest of the week.
