Haiti Suffers More Devastation as a School Collapses in Cap-Haitien Killing Three Children

Haiti suffers more devastation as a school collapses in Cap-Haitien, killing three children.

As if it couldn't get worse for Haiti, a school collapsed in Cap-Haitien, on the northern end of the island, killing three children. Pericles Jean-Baptiste, a spokesman for the Red Cross told the Associated Press the children were in the school when a wall collapsed at about midday.

The area experienced heavy rains and a small earthquake overnight, but the cause of the collapse is unknown.

This latest catastrophe comes on the heels of the massive earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince, located 80 miles north of Cap-Haitien, which killed about 230,000 people.
