Athens-Clarke Senior Police Officer Elmer Christian Shot & Killed Responding to Carjacking, Suspect Jamie Hood Still at Large

Athens-Clarke Senior Police Officer Elmer Christian was fatally shot and another officer wounded while responding to a carjacking incident. Jamie Hood is the suspect in the shootings. According to Officer Down Memorial Page, Officer Christian had just responded to the area when he encountered the suspect, believed to be Hood, who shot him while he was still in his patrol car. Officer Christian is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. This is a sad turn of events.
