Knife-Wielding NYC Man, Emmanuel Paulino, Shot & Killed by Police, Family & Friends Say Police Overreacted

The New York Police Department has come under fire in the shooting death of a knife-wielding Emmanuel Paulino Sunday morning in Manhattan. According to CBS New York, police said four officers were responding to a call and saw Paulino with a knife. They reportedly identified themselves, told him to drop the knife. One officer used his Taser on him with he failed to drop the knife but he continued to charge at the police. That's when he was shot several times. Well, here comes the protests and activists jockeying to represent the family. Some neighbors and relatives said the police overreacted, while activists are upset the NYPD released audio from the 9-1-1 call before a full investigation had been conducted.

This is a transcript of that call:

Operator: 911 Operator, where is your emergency?
Suspect: Yeah, I want you to call the cops cause I’m ready to kill.
Operator: What?
Suspect: I’m ready to kill some cops right now.
Operator: You’re ready to kill some cops?

Do you believe the police overreacted? One person said the police could have handled the situation differently, since they are trained with the latest technology and is one of the finest police departments in the world. Could someone please tell me why the family of this man allowed him to run around unchecked if he was emotionally challenged. How many people pick up the phone and make a phone call to 911 threatening the lives of officers?
