A jury has found Steven Hayes, a career criminal, guilty of murder and other crimes, some of which are punishable by death, in the 2007 home invasion that led to the untimely deaths of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her two daughters, Hayley and Michaela.
Next up for this dirtbag is the penalty phase in which jurors will decide whether Hayes lives or dies.
Hayes was found guilty on 16 of 17 counts. A guilty verdict certainly can't erase the horror the family faced, but it will assure the people of Connecticut that Hayes will never be released from prison for the rest of his life.
