Steven Lyn Nicholson Charged with First-Degree Murder in Deaths of His Two Small Kids Ella Stafford & Jonathon Sanderlin

Steven Nicholson, a suburban Detroit father, has been charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of his two small children - Ella Stafford, 15 months old & Jonathon Sanderlin, 13 months old. According to the Detroit Free Press, Nicholson called 911 to report the drowning of his children, whose bodies were found in his apartment Tuesday. He has also been charged with murder committed during another felony and child abuse, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon.

Ella's mother, Tayler Stafford, told the Free Press on Wednesday that the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office told her that the children were scalded and drowned. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office announced Thursday they had received a warrant request from Allen Park in connection with the deaths of the toddlers. This is a real tragedy. These precious babies did not deserve this. I would love to know why both mothers aren't in the lives of the children. There have been some news floating around stating he had a drinking problem. No matter how you look at this situation, there is no way his claim of being asleep will stick, unless someone else came into the apartment and killed the babies by drowning.
