First Lady Michelle Obama Tells Dennis Campbell During Early Voting in Chicago to "Support Administration's Agenda"

First Lady Michelle Obama encourages voter Dennis Campbell to support her husband's agenda causes stir.

First Lady Michelle Obama has sparked a controversy of sorts. At least, in the eyes of the Drudge Report and other right wingers. The question being asked is whether she engaged in unlawful electioneering during a conversation with a fellow voter, Dennis Campbell, at the Martin Luther King Center in Chicago. That's according to Fox News and the Drudge Report. Mrs. Obama cast her early ballot there and stopped for photos with other early voters.

Of course, Fox News had to be involved in sparking this controversy. A poll writer from their network, Abdon Pallasch spoke with Campbell, who said Mrs. Obama encouraged him to vote to support the administration's agenda. "She was telling me how important it was to vote to keep her husband's agenda going," Campbell said, according to Fox News.
According to Illinois state law, such encouragement is barred from polling places. "No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place, within 100 feet of any polling place," the statute reads. I scarcely believe Michelle Obama was trying to influence the voters. She told one voter to support her husband's administration. Besides, she didn't specifically told him who to vote for, so what's the problem? Once again, this is much ado about nothing.
