Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Roy Barnes is under fire for his latest commercial in which a fabricated news video was used to attack his opponent, Republican Nathan Deal. This is a really nasty ad that should have found its way on our television screens. There are other ways in which Roy Barnes could hit Nathan Deal than to resort to unscrupulous methods. The intent of the commercial was to create Deal in a bad light, but using fake news coverage is just downright wrong.
Watch the unaltered video (11 Alive News): Barnes Campaign Ad Uses Altered Video of Reporters and Deal
Barnes was unapologetic when confronted during a campaign stop in downtown Athens, Ga. He continued to insist that his fictitious news video in his ad was a legitimate and accurate portrayal of Nathan Deal. Well, you don't have to get in the muck to make a point. I don't trust Nathan Deal, but deceptive campaigning doesn't sit well with me either. Sorry, Roy Barnes, you're wrong on this one.
